Ophthalmology Ophthalmology

Periocular hygiene

The eyelids with their eyelashes and glands (sebaceous and sweat) and the lacrimal sac are structures protecting the eye, which form part of the area defined as the periocular area. There are various ophthalmological conditions affecting this periocular area. For adequate treatment, it is essential to perform specific hygiene measures with products that do not cause irritation or allergy, and which promote healing.

With blepharitis or conjunctivitis, it is necessary to remove excess flaking and organic residues and reduce inflammation and irritation and, in the case of ophthalmological periocular surgery, it is also important to restore hydration and promote healing.
