Charity Projects 2014-2015

Laboratorios Viñas has been cooperating for several years with various non-profit organisations on different health and social development projects to combat poverty and contribute to the development of the most disadvantaged communities.

Since 2007, Laboratorios Viñas has successively renewed its cooperation agreement with FARMA MUNDI, an NGO that promotes humanitarian aid actions to deal with emergency situations among the most vulnerable populations worldwide. Laboratorios Viñas makes financial contributions so that the Humanitarian Emergency Aid Fund (FAHE) can intervene in humanitarian catastrophes by sending medicines and emergency kits.

This agreement made it possible to provide humanitarian aid for 109,000 people during 2014 by undertaking twelve emergency interventions in eleven countries: Kenya, DR Congo, Uganda, Mali, Serbia, Dominican Republic, Syria, Haiti, Liberia, Palestine and Colombia.

Under the "Companies with a Heart” programmes run by CÁRITAS DIOCESANA, in 2014 and 2015 Laboratorios Viñas has contributed both to the “Work with a Heart” project in recruitment and customised support to improve the employability of people with difficulties in accessing the labour market, and also to the Marialar Shelters, specifically in programmes for care, integral protection and educational support for women and their children who are at risk or socially excluded.

Laboratorios Viñas has also cooperated with the Torre Baró Open Centre in social and educational support activities for children and families with socio-economic difficulties.

Since 2008, the Cooperation Agreements between OXFAM INTERMÓN and Laboratorios Viñas have been covering development projects in third world countries.

In 2014 and 2015, a project for rural development and combating hunger in Mauritania was implemented and another project is currently under way for incorporation of family farming into the stevia market in Paraguay.

With the BARCELONA FOOD BANK FOUNDATION and as part of its “More children's food” project, in 2015 Laboratorios Viñas once again contributed to the purchase of powdered baby milk, which has the basic aim of donating two tins of this essential foodstuff every month for babies between 6 and 12 months old.

In addition, Laboratorios Viñas has cooperated with the SPANISH FOOD BANK FEDERATION (FESBAL) by making a special contribution for the Christmas season.
