The Sportsalil effect increases with two new products: Sportsalil Heat Band and Sportsalil Heat Patch

The Sportsalil effect increases with two new products: Sportsalil Heat Band and Sportsalil Heat Patch

The World Health Organisation ranks a sedentary lifestyle as the 7th highest risk factor in developed nations and believes it has a direct influence on all other factors. To improve this situation, the WHO, in the framework of its international position as a watchdog for health worldwide, has prepared a document giving ‘World recommendations on physical activity for health’. It provides guidelines and informs policymakers on the dose-response relationship between frequency, duration, intensity, type and the total amount of physical activity and prevention of non-communicable diseases. In Spain, the percentage of people who exercise and do sport is still below the average in Europe, with much lower levels than in the majority of more developed European countries. Even so, there has been a significant increase in physical exercise levels in our country, as stated in the Sports Habits Survey for 2015, and there are more and more people who engage in sports and have improved healthy lifestyle habits. It is one of the easiest ways to improve health, stay healthy and increase wellbeing. However, getting a physical workout doesn’t necessarily mean going to a gym. You can exercise anywhere and no equipment is needed: people often prefer to go running, biking or swimming independently and, ideally, engage in regular, moderately intense physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day, every day.  Use common sense when exercising Although it’s true that exercising regularly is good for you, any type of activity entails the chance of suffering injuries such as sprains or strains. Some of the most common causes can be: doing exercise without warming up, repeating the same movement over and over, not performing the exercise correctly, not resting between exercises, demanding too much from your body or demanding it too quickly, doing an exercise that is too strenuous for your level of physical condition, and not using proper equipment. To prevent injuries, experts offer several recommendations that are easy to follow, regardless of whether you are a professional or an amateur athlete, including: 1. Warm up properly before starting to exercise and cool down once you’ve finished. 2. Select the exercise intelligently: when starting out, it's best to choose a low-intensity exercise such as walking, swimming, biking or playing golf. 3. Use proper equipment appropriate for the sport that you are playing, which can significantly decrease the risk of injuries: the right footwear, helmet, goggles, shin guards, knee pads and other protective gear. 4. Listen to your body: of course, exertion is needed to increase strength and resistance. The key is increasing the effort slowly and gradually. And remember that every time you exercise a muscle unused to getting a workout at a somewhat intense level, it will inevitably get sore. However, the soreness will disappear in two or three days and doesn’t usually involve an injury. The range increases with two new products  Amateur athletes have the difficult task of organising their days to include training sessions within their personal and professional schedules. Exercising is a passion that demands effort and knowledge of one’s own body and of the risks involved when one does not devote their life to sports, such as not being able to give the body as much rest as necessary because of lack of time. Besides preparing a good training plan, eating well and resting, you should know how to minimise the risk of injury and—should one occur—know which therapies to use to ensure recovery. There are now ‘pocket’ cryotherapy (cold-effect therapy) and thermotherapy (heat-effect therapy) products, meaning products that act quickly and effectively and that athletes can take with them wherever they go. Continuing their support of amateur athletes, Laboratorios Viñas has launched two new Sportsalil products that use thermotherapy as their action mechanism: the Sportsalil Heat Band and Sportsalil Heat Patch. These thermal patches last eight hours and provide relief from joint and muscle pain. They are effective against tiredness, muscle tension, and sprains and strains. They are also effective for osteoarthritis and menstrual pain, due to the heat effect. This is Laboratorios Viñas’ new ‘pocket thermotherapy’. The heat produces vasodilatation (dilating of veins and arteries) inducing increased blood circulation at a higher temperature. It is also a muscle relaxant and has a calming effect—namely, it reduces overall pain. Not only does thermotherapy normally have good and immediate results, it is also recommended for chronic problems.

New Emolienta QP lotion, the perfect solution to restore softness and moisture to the skin

New Emolienta QP lotion, the perfect solution to restore softness and moisture to the skin

Spring is just around the corner, making us increasingly inclined to swap our mid-season jackets for short-sleeves. The time has come to enjoy the outdoors, the sunshine and rising temperatures. As we bare our arms and legs, most of us realise that once again, we have prioritised facial skincare and overlooked the needs of other parts of the body, such as the arms, legs and buttocks which show frequent signs of rough, dry skin. Triple effect: emollient, moisturising and keratolytic-exfoliant First, we know that this manifests as minor unsightly bumps, which are actually horny plugs obstructing the follicles, resulting in rough, dry skin. To combat these blockages and restore the hydrolipidic film, Laboratorios Viñas has developed Emolienta QP, a hypoallergenic body lotion specifically designed for uneven, rough, dry skin. In addition, its salicylic acid and glycolic acid formula confers keratolytic-exfoliant properties, reducing uneven skin texture and smoothing rough areas while exerting intense moisturising and emollient effects. Last, Emolienta QP also has beneficial soothing properties which reduce redness and relieve itchy skin. Note that its formula is specifically designed for atopic skin and contains neither fragrance nor urea. Healthy, comfortable skin How and when Emolienta QP is applied is an essential determinant of the results obtained. In this regard, Laboratorios Viñas recommends applying the lotion once a day, massaging gently, and preferably before bed to let it act while you sleep. For optimal results, use the fingertips to apply a sufficient quantity, drawing little circles on the skin until fully absorbed. Just be careful to avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Should this happen, wash the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical advice. It is recommended to wash hands after each application. The light and fluid texture of Emolienta QP enables its easy and pleasant application on large areas and leaves no greasy residue. If you follow these recommendations, you will see how your skin texture becomes more even and smoother, leaving it feeling pleasantly supple. On the other hand, it is important to emphasise that the launch of Emolienta QP body lotion adds to Laboratorios Viñas' range of emollient and moisturising products for hands, eyelids, nose, hands, feet and nails. Percentages revealing effectiveness and satisfaction The improvement achieved in dry skin with a rough and uneven texture was reflected in a clinical study whose findings clearly show the efficacy, tolerability and acceptance of Emolienta QP. A total of 92 subjects participated in the study, using the body lotion once daily (at night) for one month. The results were outstanding, showing a remarkable reduction in the different aspects studied: Rough skin: 87%Follicular erythema: 86%Itching: 80%Follicular keratinisation: 77%Dry skin: 78% As for overall effectiveness and tolerability, the figures reached 87% and 98%, respectively. Also, 73% of those who had previously used a different treatment were strongly inclined to switch to Emolienta QP. A lasting solution for rough, uneven skin

TANIT, expert in cosmetic skin lightening, organises dermoanalysis workshops in pharmacies

Hyperpigmentation, that is, the appearance of dark spots on the skin is among the most common and widespread beauty problems among the population, and one of the most concern. Whether due to excessive exposure of the skin to solar radiation or the effects of the inexorable passage of time, the truth is that it is difficult to maintain an even complexion. However, Tanit, the cosmetic depigmentation brand by Laboratorios Viñas, which retails in pharmacies and is known for its expertise and innovation, boasts a comprehensive range of solutions for pigmentation spots. Every skin is different To learn more about our skin, Tanit is holding "Dermoanalysis Workshops" in pharmacies. What the initiative consists of: using a dermoanalyser, an expert performs a free skin analysis on customers to measure levels of moisture, melanin and sebum. The expert then assesses the data thus obtained in order to recommend a product from the TANIT range that will help the customer regain an even complexion while providing adequate protection. These sessions will take place during the months of March, April, July, September and October across the network of pharmacies that the brand is affiliated with all over Spain. Participating pharmacies will advertise the campaign to their customers by displaying an easily recognisable information poster. Thus, from March onward, anyone visiting the pharmacy with an interest in regaining an attractive complexion and getting it rid of dark spots will have the opportunity to get a free analysis by a TANIT expert on the day that the workshop is held. Customers can also make an appointment. It's that simple. Experts in cosmetic skin lightening What solutions does TANIT have to offer to treat pigmentation spots? How to choose the most appropriate treatment for each skin? We all want professional and effective solutions that, to the extent possible, specifically target the problem we wish to solve. There is not much point in using a high-quality product if it is not the one that we need. TANIT thus offers an extensive range of depigmentation products that are specifically designed to fade dark spots on the hands, face or body, and is a market reference among cosmetic depigmentation brands.  How does Tanit meet the most stringent targets? The key is in its dual strategy which combines sun protection with the depigmenting properties of its products. Based on this premise, the company uses ingredients with a proven track record in dermatology such as kojic acid, natural bearberry extract and curcumin, a powerful antioxidant.

Aftex Forte Gel, the most powerful solution for canker sores

Aftex Forte Gel, the most powerful solution for canker sores

Among the most common mouth lesions people have are canker sores and mouth ulcers. However, and in spite of their high prevalence, experts still have not been able to determine exactly what causes them to appear. They have been attributed to multifactorial origins that range from genetics to environmental triggers. That is what the doctors María Rioboo Crespo and Antonio Bascones Martínez indicate in the monograph Canker Sores in Oral Mucosa, published in the Avances en odontoestomatología journal in 2009:  “There are numerous studies in the literature suggesting that, on the one hand, there is a possible genetic basis and that, on the other hand, predisposing factors such as stress, specific foods, hormone imbalance and tobacco exist; there is even talk of others such as the action of viruses or bacteria, vitamin deficiencies and immunological factors”. That is the conclusion that researchers reach after reviewing the studies published in Pub-Med from 2000 to 2008. Multiple causes Whatever the trigger that sets off canker sores, once they appear they all share a common factor: the pain they produce. And the thing is that, although this type of lesion is not serious, the pain involved can unquestionably be limiting for the individual who suffers from it.To relieve this discomfort as quickly as possible, Aftex Forte Gel Oral ‒the most powerful product in the Aftex line, with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid‒ was recently launched by Laboratorios Viñas. Thanks to its special formula, it provides instant pain relief and promotes the healing of mouth ulcers by controlling the inflammatory processes and rehydrating the tissues.Applying it every day not only guarantees rapid, lasting pain relief and ulcer healing, it also improves diet and speech functionality quickly. Why is Aftex Forte Gel so effective? The answer is simple: Its formula. This product contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid that makes it extraordinarily effective against even the largest, most painful canker sores and mouth ulcers. It also ensures better adhesion to the oral mucosa and greater protection against tongue contact with external agents.Apply the product two or three times a day (or more if necessary), always after meals. Wait for 30 minutes after the application before swallowing anything, either solids or liquids. For optimal use, an applicator cannula is included, to let you spread the gel simply and comfortably over the lesion in any corner of the oral cavity. If the ulcer is larger than normal, it is important to cover the entire surface of the ulcer completely. Why hyaluronic acid? The results obtained after the application of this substance on canker sores and ulcers have been proven conclusively. Among the main benefits attributed to it are: Immediate, significant symptom relief, especially of the pain.More rapid healing time.Highly tolerable and acceptable, without toxic or undesirable effects.Increased quality of life. Undoubtedly, this is an attractive list of advantages that stem from an equally outstanding catalogue of properties linked to hyaluronic acid: Moisturising and protective action (it traps proteins and water).Healing action (it attracts fibroblasts).Regenerating action (it increases tissue firmness).Anti-oedema action (reduces capillary permeability). Specially for large, very painful canker sores New Aftex Forte Gel Oral comes in an 8-ml tube with an applicator cannula. This gel is suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women and for older people. It is also suitable for individuals with diabetes, as it contains no sugar. Available in pharmacies.

Sportsalil Ice Spray, the amateur athlete's best ally

Sportsalil Ice Spray, the amateur athlete's best ally

Over the last few years, we have all either witnessed or been part of one of the most significant changes in our society in terms of healthy living habits, specifically, an increase in the practice of physical exercise. There is no doubt that the Spanish are increasingly keen on being physically active. A simple visit to the gym or stroll down the street suffice to see how many more people than before exercise on a daily basis. Women get their trainers on The "2015 Sports Habits Survey" conducted by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport shows us not only the percentage of the population that practiced sports on a regular basis in 2015 (53.3% of respondents), but also describes the upward trend observed among women between 2010 and 2015, the former being when the previous survey was performed. A comparison of the two reports shows an increase of 13.3% in women vs. 4.9% in men. The findings of the research conducted therefore seem to corroborate the initial concept that the assiduous practice of exercise has become standard among citizens of all segments of the population, something we should certainly feel proud of. However, this also prompts us to focus on the importance of injury prevention and sports healthcare in order to avoid possible adverse effects. Should a sports injury occur... All too often, overconfidence and the desire to beat our own personal best can lead us to suffer avoidable muscle and joint injuries. Thorough preparation and professional advice and supervision are two key factors to achieve optimal results from exercise and training sessions. Nevertheless, we remain vulnerable to sprains, dislocations, tendinitis or bruising, and we are not immune from unforeseen trauma or a nasty fall. Every amateur athlete should therefore make it a priority to always have a fast-acting, instant relief solution at hand in order to deal with such setbacks. What are your options? Experience the Sportsalil effect  Laboratorios Viñas recently launched one of the most successful and effective solutions for rapid pain relief. Meet Sportsalil Ice Spray, a cold-treatment spray which immediately reduces pain after a muscle or joint injury. With this product, Laboratorios Viñas once again shows its support for amateur athletes and for promoting values such as self-improvement, effort and willpower. As fast as it is effective If only more of the problems we face every day were as easy to solve as pain vanishes with Sportsalil! Four or five seconds suffice to feel just how quickly muscle discomfort subsides. Simply spray the area to be treated from a distance of about 20 to 30 centimetres and leave the product to act. Repeat as soon as the effects of the first application have faded. Easy, isn't it? Care should be taken to avoid possible burns, e.g. do not spray the product on open wounds, mucosal surfaces and abrasions or excoriations. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
